A Community Choir

A Community Choir

The Mid Sussex Choir is an amateur community choir and registered charity drawing its members from across Mid Sussex.  We are a friendly choir and we're always looking for new members (aged 18 or above).  We present two main concerts each year, in December and March/April, and also sing at a small number of charity and other events.  In recent years the Choir has performed a wide range of works and music styles ably lead by its Musical Director, Andrew Sutton, and accompanist Phillip Sear.  We rehearse for 2 hours on Wednesday evenings at 7.30 p.m. at the Methodist Church, Perrymount Road, Haywards Heath between September and June each year.  The next concert "Re-telling the Christmas Story for the 21st Century" is on 16th December 2023 at St Wilfrid's Church, Haywards Heath and features The Manchester Carols and a selection of songs and carols.

"When I first joined I had not sung since school days, but I was made very welcome and soon felt part of the group.  Over the years we have sung a wide variety of different styles of music - it is always good to try out new things!   We always put on a lovely concert at Christmas time with many well known Christmas carols as well as less well known Christmas songs.  Our Spring concert this year will be songs from the shows which I am really enjoying.  I always look forward to our Wednesday evenings choir practice - our choir master Andrew Sutton makes it such fun!”
